- If you hurt my family or loved ones, I will knock you out. Don’t even start with a ‘turn the other cheek’ quote unless you understand the context.
- To me, one of the most relaxing and enjoyable things to do is to drink a beer or two while BBQ’ing.Â
- There are many people who I really don’t like. I feel no obligation to spend any amount of time with them.
- I listen to just as much secular music as I do Christian music.
- I have to make a conscious effort not to lust over just about every hot girl that I see. It’s really freakin’ aggravating.
- I hated Facing The Giants.
- I have regular doubts about Christianity/different aspects of my faith.
- I really struggle with tithing. I don’t trust that God will “open up the floodgates.” How’s that for honesty?
- I have four tattoos and plan to get more. Call me crazy, but I don’t think my body ink punched my ticket to Hell.
- Every time I sit at my computer I’m tempted to look at porn. Thanks to XXX Church for providing some quality software!
- I dream extremely big. Often I crush my dreams cuz I don’t think they’re feasible…even with God on my side.
- I think I’m a lot cooler than I am.
- This whole Green Movement pisses me off to no end.
- I have insane road rage. No Jesus fish on my car.
- Some of the worst moments of my life came as a result of trying to meet girls online.
- I love making people admit that they’re wrong.
- I don’t like reading the book of Psalms.Â
- I don’t like when people cheer after a ‘Jesus is coming back’ line in a worship song (not sure why).
- I’m horrendous at planning and time management.
- It’s possible that I give The Five Love Languages too much credit. I think the book/concept is nearly perfect.
- Sometimes my evangelistic methods are too passive because I’m worried about what people will think of me.
- I don’t pray as often as I’d like to because I figure that ‘if this is what God wants it’ll happen anyways.’ Flawed, I know.
- I have little patience for people who don’t ‘get it.’Â
- I don’t take the advice of too many people other than a handful of pastors because ‘they’re as lost as I am.’
- I think Narnia is ‘good at best.’
And here are three bonus confessions:
- My relationship with my dad sucks. I need to fix that…
- For whatever reason, I still can’t fully appreciate communion at church.
- I am anything but the ideal Christian. I live each day as a work in progress. I am passionate about becoming more like Christ and I will continue to run this race until the Lord decides he doesn’t need my anymore.Â

An impressive list.
But I don’t get the first one. It’s more an argument than a confession.
Bill:
Your honesty and humility both continue to minister to me. Thank you for that bud!
For His Glory,
Jason
Well, it’s just kinda taboo for a Christian to admit to anything violent. We’re just supposed let people walk all over us…or so it seems.
By the way, Drakim, I owe you a response on a previous post. Stay tuned.
I like your list, Bill. I find myself agreeing with you on 19 out of 28. Yes, I counted. My #1 favorite though is “I hated Facing the Giants.” Man, I almost liked that movie because it was so terrible. I’ve seen better acting than that in a junior high musical. Seriously.
What? You didn’t like Facing the Giants?! And you only thought Narnia was good at I really have to question your love for Jesus.
Just kidding!
I never saw Facing the Giants myself.
preaching to the freaking choir! (well from a straight girl’s perspective)
Me too!
I don’t ‘get it’. Not nearly as often as I’d like.
What do you have against the greens?
I hate tattoos. I mean I really hate them. I view them in exactly the same light as ritual scarification and I think that they’re the modern equivalent in every way.
One last thing:
it’s just you that needs to fix that, is it?
I like lists, as always there are more things that I have in common with my fellow man than I have apart. :d
Why the hate for the Greenies? Personal experience with them? I can’t see hating them because they don’t have enough power to illicit any reaction from me. Maybe it’s diffierent where you are. I can’t disagree with most of their ideals even if they are half baked.
Lol…I don’t hate the Greenies, guys. I’m just so sick of this fad, which is essentially what it is. I too agree with much of what they say and stand for. I just think it’s funny how everyone has jumped on this faddish bandwagon which will eventually come to an end.
It’s “cool” go Go Green right now. It’s almost like this companies and corporations (Hollywood) are on board for all the wrong reasons.
hov,
No, but I can’t use that excuse any longer. One of us needs to man up.
Yeah, lists are great, aren’t they?
Could you tell something about #15?
Also, could you examine yourself and see if you can find why you dislike Greenies? I can sort of understand the feeling and I have a hunch like there’s could be some underlying cause for the dislike but I just can’t recognize what it is.
Becksi,
I don’t dislike Greenies. The movement is what I don’t like (see comment #9).
Tell you something about #15, eh? Eh…
I made very poor decisions while trying to meet girls online. I was desperate for attention from a girl. That’s really embarrassing to say, but it’s the truth. As a result, I picked the [very obviously] wrong girls to talk to. I was lied to time after time again (age, looks, etc). The hurt that came from these girls has stuck with me over the years.
Ya know what? I’ll blog about this next week. It’s a dark chapter of my life that I’d love to expose to the light.
Bill Cecchini,
Thanks, I’d like to hear about that.
#1: Agreed.
#5: I make no such effort.
#22: It makes sense to me.
Bill,
I see what you are saying about the Green movement, I thought you were talking about the Green Party specifically, politics has been on the brain. I agree the fad of saving the world is annoying. If I see Al gore I’ll duct tape his mouth shut and I do most of what he suggests.
Green living shouldn’t be a fad. It should be a way of living responsibly. It makes me feel good too to know that I’m growing some of my own food and wasting less than I used to. I recycle as much as I can not because it will save the world but because I don’t want to make the world my rubbish dump. Plus composting is cool. Small changes make a big difference.
#15 Bill, you dark horse. I can’t wait for the saucy details. :”>
I don’t have the best relationship with my dad either. Not sure if I ever told you anything about it when you lived with Mike. If you’re interested I will. If not…just know you’re not the only one, and I felt the same way about taking the first step. Like “why do I have to be the one to do it? Why can’t HE?”
