It’s been a fun week of lists. Lemme close it out with one more.
5 Traps I am avoiding while blogging on FriendlyChristian.com:
- The “MORE SUBSCRIBERS, MORE COMMENTS, MORE SUBSCRIBERS, MORE COMMENTS” trap.
- The “I’ve lost sight of what God has done/is doing in my life” trap.
- The “Lost in the theological weeds” trap.
- The “‘FriendlyChristian author Bill’ does not equal the ‘real life Bill’” trap.
- The “Sacrifice who I am and/or what I stand for because I have to satisfy everybody” trap.
How about you? Are there any traps that you [try to] avoid on your site and/or in your life?
- Bonus: The “Oh crap, does God even exist?” trap.

My Journey
The “What’s my Technorati rating today?” trap.
I try not say anything on my blog or in comments on other blogs that I would not say in person. I think that doing so is spineless.
The “Thinking of everything in terms of being a trap” trap. Maybe that door you suspect is the entrance to a trap is actually the exit from the trap you don’t realize you’re in.
The “piss and moan” trap. It’s pretty easy to complain in writing when you don’t have to see the looks on the faces of your audience.
I am also in the same boat with Odgie regarding what I say.
The “check for new comments every 10 seconds” trap where you write a masterpiece and expect people to comment on it straight away. Of course I never do that. :”>
If there’s a trap for more commenters, I’d be happy to fall into it!
