Our friend over at [tag]Leaving Eden[/tag] hit it out of the ballpark once again with this post. A quick excerpt…the last line…see if it makes you think as much as it is me:
Unfortunately, most people don’t seem capable of just listening and receiving someone else’s story.
True, huh? Why? Why can’t [tag]Christian[/tag]s (and yes I’m being too general) hear an Atheist’s story and not feel the need to “convert” him/her?
Why can’t an [tag]Atheist[/tag] listen to a Christian talk about his/her [tag]faith [/tag]w/o coming back with some kind of rebuttal?
This one is gonna have me messed up for some time.
A comment a day keeps the [person/thing you want to keep away] away!
Stay tuned for a blog interview between the author of Leaving Eden and myself.
We got a few good posts on the FC Forum yesterday. I made a couple comments this morning as well. Check ‘em out! Jump on the bandwagon…everybody’s doing it.

I liked this comment from the blog:
Is the inability to relate to the opposing view the thing that stops us listening?
Even after months of listening to you chaps it still escapes me how you can believe in something so passionately without a shred of proof. I’m sure that my own desire for evidence in the face of something that seems so obvious to you is equally baffling.
I’d hope that we’ve all learnt to listen from participating in FC though. I mean I still think I’m right but now I also think that you’re a little less wrong. I no longer see people of faith in quite the same way anyway. :d
I hope that the same can be said for the “other side”.
I have to concur with my esteemed colleague the illustrious frog:
To my mind I have been on EACH side of this issue.
I grew up Catholic and was educated out of theism into atheism…
Did I have a choice in this? Would it have been even possible for me to maintain any form theism given who I am?
That said I don’t think there is any argument any Christian could make that could turn me from my current course.
The flip side: I don’t think there is any argument I could make to shake the faith of Gods Gal or Tam or InWorship.
oh well!

It’d be quite dull if we all agreed though. Don’t you think?
I disagree.
@HappyNat…
Gotta love that simple humor
Hi Hovness….I have a great deal of respect as well for most here..you are still number one frog! This is one area tho that we will probably til the cows come home, disagree on. As a believer, I see tons of proof of His existence. I could never go to the mindset of “I can’t explain it, but I know it’s not your way.” I have come to a greater understanding of non-beleivers here and and like I said respect. Here’s a cup of jo fer ya ~o)…..

Off topic question: I read your blog through Bloglines, and I wonder why there is this massive picture of yourself in the RSS feed header?
@TAG,
That’s incredibly embarrassing. Thanks for the heads up.
GG, fair enough. Let’s just say that I don’t consider the evidence that you see to be concrete enough evidence for me. I know that you do and I’m happy that it works for you. I just need something more. Of course, you knew that already.
Is that coffee milk and sugar free?
That coffee is however you need it to be to make you smile.
I don’t need coffee to make me smile…I just need it to function.
