Just about every [tag]Christian [/tag]will claim to be struggling with pride.
I’m no different.
When my website was small and unheard of, pride wasn’t an issue. What did I have to be proud of?
Now we’ve got a little bit of recognition. People know about [tag]FriendlyChristian.com[/tag]. We get a good amount of traffic…WAY more than we’ve ever had in the past. The number of comments we receive is, let’s just be honest, far more than many blog sites will ever see. We’re becoming more and more successful as the days go by. People link here. People write reviews on the site. People are noticing us.
And it feels good. Yep, that’s right, it feels good. I love the attention. I want more. I crave more. I think I’d make a good superstar.
Quote it. Blog about it. [tag]Podcast [/tag]about it - I don’t care. It’s the truth. I fight it…oh, I fight it. I pray EVERY DAY that God would help me stay humble. I remind myself that I’m not hosting this site to make Bill Cecchini famous. I try very hard to keep myself in check.
But I struggle. I hate to admit it, but I do. Sometimes I wish we were still very small. Sometimes I don’t act upon any new ideas I have for the site just because I’m worried that I’ll end up changing if this site gets any bigger.
But I press on. Why? This is what I feel [tag]God [/tag]is calling me to do. I feel like this “gotta be real” dynamic on my faith might be something worth sharing with a few people.
Listen guys…I’m only human just like you. Attention feels good, doesn’t it? I promise you my audience that I will be in constant prayer that God would continue to lead me, direct me, keep me humble, break me down/build me up, and accomplish some Big God things through this site.

You have much to be proud of.
Has hoverFrog mentioned that Pride is one of his most favourite deadly sins. Lust is obviously first but Pride is second. Sloth would be second but he can’t be bothered to promote it.
hoverFrog says: be proud just don’t be arrogant. He also says that writing in the third person is fun. People do not often listen to hoverFrog.
