I look to my right and smile as I see one of my favorite photographs. I remember that chilly winter night. It was Tiffany’s night to plan our date. She drove us to the James Island Festival of Lights, an annual display of Christmas light attractions. She was wearing the blue Michigan hoodie that I had bought her earlier in the month.
Inside the park there is a huge fire pit where families stop to toast marshmallows. Tiff had brought marshmallows, graham crackers and Hershey’s chocolate - all the ingredients to one of my favorite snacks - S’mores! We stopped and had a feast.
Despite my serious lack of photographic talent, I managed to capture a beautiful moment that memorable night. Tiff has a marshmallow on a stick in her right hand. With her left hand she’s pointing at her Michigan hoodie (what guy wouldn’t love that??). Her smile brings life to the picture.
And I think to myself…what a wonderful night. I’d love to experience it again.
Time sits in the palm of your hand.
Given the chance, what event would you live over again?

I would live several moments over again…but not to change any. I would actually have my babies again! Those were the most amazing moments EVER! Hurt like AAAAAHHHHHHHH@-) but so well worth it. It is truly a miracle!
my first date with Hubs…a day at Hershey Park and riding all thr rollercoasters, and ending the day at a concert that was held outside, and dancing and laughing, and just the very best time ever!!:x
@darla…
That’s awesome. I loved reading that (I’m a hopeless romantic at heart).
I want to be like I was during “the pursuit” of Tiffany. It’s soooo easy to become complacent and to take a loved one for granted.
I wonder how different our relationship would be if I was consistent in my late night calls, wearing my best outfits when I see her, putting on her favorite colognes, etc.
Bill if you do those little things once and a while..I could promise you that it will not go unnoticed!
Sometimes on vacation we come across a rollercoaster…and we are soo there! or a song on the radio..reminds us to dance, remember the little things..something about us girls love that! at least for me…we work at keeping that kind of romance going. It is so worth it!
Bill one more thing..flowers are awesome and I love them, but they are so much more special when there is no reason for them, except that he saw them and knew I would love them….they really stink as an “I am sorry” kind of thing.
LOL feels like I am talking to my lil bro, and giving him tips;)
complacency sneaks into everything..our relationships, our faith, even how some of us raise our kids, how much we give the boss man, and just our values….don’t you think it is something we just have to always work at? like a check and balance kind of thing?
I think that you probably do a great job. And she probably has a lot of things she needs to work on too. But these things don’t stop her from loving you any less. Sounds like a perfect night
Wuv you
There are so many…..I would say any family event would do. Having the whole family together with us is quite an adventure…..usually sides are hurting from constant laughter….there’s just too many to pick one. God has blessed us with our fam!:)
awwwwwwwwww Tiff that iso sweet…sounds like u 2 r off to a good start!=d>
All this love. I think I might go adopt a puppy
:x:d
=))love is grand!!!
and there is nothing wrong with feeling loved! especially when you are!
GROUP HUG>:d<
Atheists - where you at???
I think we should all go visit their sites..and just crash! I am missin me some debate and conversation that makes my mind think.:o
Maybe you should ask something controversial?:-j
@Tam…
Wise a$$
I thought I’d try to “can’t we all just get along” approach. I guess people can find that at any site out there. Perhaps I should stick to the stuff that works
My fondest moment was when I was debating this guy and I clobbered him… :d
j.k….
I’d like to say something romantic, but really the last time I remember being really super happy was when I was skiing (by myself). It was one of those perfect ski days that I think you find mainly in CA. Lots of snow but not very cold with the sky above a swirling mass of moving clouds. I could do that for a week and not get sick of it - tired but not sick.
let me try to get this rolling…
In my life I have not fond memories of anyone or anything…since finding the LORD, I have nothing but good and loving memories..maybe this has something to do with God being love!?
What event would I live over again? hmmm. Either all my life or absolutely none of it. I have my memories of what went before and the filter of my brain to make them better than they actually were.
Although there was this one night at uni….. :”>
I’d have to agree with hoverfrog. I’d love to see my mother again, but how would that work with the knowledge of her death? I cherish my fondest memories, but try not to look to the past or the future. Life is what is going on right now.
I’d also like to add that part of the charm of that perfect moment that you recall so well is the uniqueness of it. Possibly the freshness instead. That is why we remember so well our first kisses (not yours and mine but yours, and mine) or our first loves but not the fifteenth time we ate our favourite meal.
There is an excitement in experiencing something for the first time that you shouldn’t try to repeat. Doing so can spoil the memory of that special time and cheapen it until it becomes commonplace.
Then again there are somethings that get better the more you do them.
to spend time with my grown children as toddlers again…even just for a short time. Tiffany IS sweet.
